Fit to the Beats

Hi.  My name is Melissa (cry laughing emoji).

I haven't written in a MINUTE. I mean it's been a WHILE.

I like writing. I do. But I've been distracted. And I haven't known what to write, honestly.

So, here I am. January 29th, a random day, writing.

It's 8:26. And I'm sitting on my bed, listening to Ed Sheeran. I'm trying to get inspiration while I hold out for the moment I turn Hulu to catch up on D.C. (Dawson's Creek).

I just put Levi to bed. He thought it was funny because when I was reading our story tonight, I read it in an English accent. That kid cracks me up. It was funny. (I secretly wish I had one, an accent that is).

I also secretly wish I had my own fitness studio, right in Old Town, teaching dance fitness classes to ladies, moms, who want to burn calories while having fun to good music.

Fit to the Beats was born the day I realized I loved to workout to music. To the beat. With steps. And a repetitive routine. I''m not talking some remix of 'Good Vibrations' while doing squats. I'm talking 'Can't Stop the Feeling' Justin Timberlake step-touch, add the arms, tap the feet, FEEL THE BEAT, workout. My heart.

Listen...working out is hard some days. Brutal even. Some days...you just don't wanna do it. PERIOD. But when you feel the beat to songs you love and beats you love, with moves you love...you've got a win.

You're driving down that windy road in your truck, windows are down, that song comes on that you love. What do you do? You picture yourself dancing, singing, on stage, like a pro, with a million in the crowd watching you. Don't deny it, you know it's true. That is what working out to music is like. Taking all those moves you envision in your head, putting them to music with each beat and repeating moves to the choruses and verses. Feeling the beat to EVERY move you make. Working it out to EVERY move. Envisioning yourself  taking on the world. Feeling empowered.

Enter...Fit to the Beats.

Music. A workout to the beat. Every step, every time. Let's do this.
